About a year ago I was striked with the rumour at THE CROFT TIMES that a certain "Catherine Zeta-Jones" may be selected for the role of Lara Croft (known from the fantastic Tomb Raider computer game series developed by Eidos Interactive) in the upcoming movie title "Tomb Raider: The Movie". I have never heard of Catherine Zeta-Jones before and became very curious because Lara is my favorite female character (:-))). Catherine was said to be very convincing in The Mask of Zorro. That film was just on in Hungary, so I went to see it. Well, soon I became absolutely convinced too... Try this link!

What everybody notices about her at first glance, that Catherine is beautiful. Yesss, she is beautiful, but in a special way that can not be reproduced very well by static photographs. (So get prepared for something even more exciting...) Her eyes shot you and her body dances with you while she is actually just speaks to you... (As Mike Clark, USA TODAY says "She has looks that could stop traffic.") Her acting is very expressive. She is also a very good dancer and singer - born to be on stage, there is no doubt about that.

Catherine Zeta-Jones (ZEE-tah) was born in Swansea, Wales, on September 25, 1969 (from Irish mother and Welsh father). Catherine was singing and dancing by the time she was four. Catherine moved to London from her native South Wales when she turned 15. By the time she was 17, Catherine had the lead in the British revival of 42nd Street. She was offered a role in a TV series called The Darling Buds of May. While Catherine went back to theater work in "Street Scenes" with the English National Opera after wrapping 'The Darling Buds of May', the hit 12-episodes series turned her into a major sex symbol: "Almost overnight, my life changed drastically. Every time I had coffee with a man, he became my latest boyfriend. Cameras followed me everywhere. I had absolutely no privacy. The intrusion into my life got so bad, I actually drove my car into a lamp post trying to get away from paparazzi one day. It was at that moment that I decided to flee Britain and live in America." After several years of continuous attempt to turning up she got the leading role in Catherine the Great and Titanic TV mini series. Fortunately, because Steven Spielberg was just in the preproduction for The Mask of Zorro, and he caught Catherine in "The Titanic": "He wanted to meet me, just have a chat, I was like, 'I can't believe I'm sitting here with this dinosaur head and Steven Spielberg...'"
