 she began singing and dancing at the age of 4 in the local Catholic congregation's amateur performing troupe;
she began acting at the age of 11, playing the lean in Annie;
at the age of 13 she starred in a West End production of the musical Bugsy Malone;
at the age of 14 former Monkees star Mickey Dolenz discovered her for a production of The Pyjama Game;
at the age of 15 she acquired her professional actor's card, and moved to London;
at the age of 16 she took over the lead in David Merrick's 4;
at the age of 17 she caught the lead in the British revival of 42nd Street;
at the age of 20 she went to France to make her film debut in
Sheherazade (1990);
at the age of 21 she returned home, and soon became a UK star after playing Mariette in the TV series The Darling Buds of May;

2000 (August 8, 6 p.m.): Dylan Michael Douglas was born,
as the first child of Cathy and Michael!
2000 (November 18): Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones tied the knot
in a private ceremony in Manhattan's Plaza Hotel.
 
2000: She playes one of the main roles in the 4-Oscar winning
Traffic. Cathy has got a Golden Globe nomination
for her part (wife of a drog baron). This is her first >$100M film, and also the first with
her husband (however, they have no common scenes). Catherine was pregnant during the shooting,
and her part was modified to ulilize this!
2001: She plays with
Julia Roberts in the lightweight comedy
America's Sweethearts. Cathy turned out
to be more glamorous and interesting at the same time. (And that is why this movie is so important (:-)...)
2002: Cathy became the official spokesperson for
Elizabeth Arden, introducing "ardenbeauty".
2002: Cathy became the official global spokeswoman for the
T-Mobile USA
to advertise T-Mobile phones. She follows Jamie Lee Curtis in this job. Some people are criticizing
Catherine for this, but you should know, that she loves smart gadgets very much...
2002: She playes Velma Kelly in the frenetic film musical
Chicago. Now she could flash in Hollywood her
fantastic singing and dancing abilities (:-)... The movie already got a stack of Golden Globe and Oscar
nominations (including Cathy), so it's going to be a huge success!
 
2002: Dylan is already 2 and Catherine is expecting her 2nd child from Michael.
