CATHERINE Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas yesterday proudly announced they are expecting their second child - and plugged the actor's new film at the same time.
HAPPY COUPLE: Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones
A message on Douglas's official website confirmed the happy news. It read: "Michael and Catherine are extremely pleased to announce that they're expecting their second child in the Spring of 2003.
"Apparently, with the upcoming release of Michael's next film, A Few Good Years, which stars three generations of Douglas's, Michael and Catherine felt there was room for some more!"
Catherine gave birth to baby boy Dylan, her first child, in August 2000 in Los Angeles.
The new baby will be Douglas's third child. The 58-year-old has a son, Cameron, from his previous marriage to first wife Diandra.
The 33-year-old actress revealed in May that she was hoping for another addition to the Douglas dynasty. In an interview she said: "I'd like to try next year, because Dylan is two in August and I'd like as many as I can pop out.
"I'm one of three, so I have it in my head that three is the perfect number. But Michael is one of two, so he wants one more ... But yes, I'd like to have three. Or as many as I can."
Speaking at the family home in Swansea yesterday Catherine's mum Pat, 56, said: "The family are all thrilled to bits." Bookies are already taking bets on the new baby's name with Caitlin installed at 11-1 favourite, Welsh names Cerys, Megan or Angharad at 20-1, and Myfanwy or Ffion at 25-1. Boys' names included Ioan at 12-1, Owain at 14-1 and Aneurin at 20-1.
One bookie said said: "We always get people placing bets about Catherine Zeta-Jones - she's one of Wales' biggest stars, after all."
