Macy Gray, L'il Kim and Queen Latifah have recorded a song for the forthcoming 'Chicago' soundtrack, according to reports.

Hoping to match the success of movie diva-collaboration 'Lady Marmalade', the hip-hop/soul stars have recorded a version of 'Cell Block Tango', a song performed by Catherine Zeta-Jones in the movie.

According to Variety magazine, the new version has been produced by Ric Wake and will be included on the movie soundtrack, due to be released in the US on January 14.

'Chicago', a film adaptation of the famous Kander and Ebb musical, is released nationwide in the UK on January 17.

Meanwhile, Backstreet Boy Kevin Richardson is said to have landed in a role in the Broadway production of 'Chicago'.

Richardson, 31, has signed on to play attorney Billy Flynn - the role handled by Richard Gere in the forthcoming movie - from January 20.
