It's a girl for Zeta-Jones and Douglas

Hollywood super-couple Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas announced on Monday the birth of their second child, a baby girl.

Carys Zeta Douglas was born on Sunday morning in the northeastern state of New Jersey, weighing three kilos (six pounds, 12 ounces), the mother's publicist said.

Zeta-Jones (34) and Douglas (58) had their first child Dylan Michael Douglas three months before their wedding in November 2000.

The baby was born four weeks after Zeta-Jones won an Oscar for her performance as the voluptuous, murderous Velma Kelly in the musical ‘Chicago’.

She's been performing since age 12, when she was belting out songs in the musical ‘Annie’, but was launched to superstardom with a sword in her hand alongside Antonio Banderas and Anthony Hopkins in the 1998 film ‘The Mask of Zorro’.

Her marriage into Hollywood royalty has also kept her in the headlines.

The couple earlier this month won a high-profile lawsuit against British gossip magazine Hello! over photos of their wedding.

Douglas has two Oscars under his belt.

He appears with his 24-year-old son from a previous marriage, Cameron, and his father, Kirk Douglas, in the movie ‘It Runs in the Family’, opening Friday. The film is the first featuring three generations of the Douglas family.
