Catherina Zeta-Jones Now Frontrunner for Smith

Catherine Zeta-Jones has now emerged as a frontrunner to join Brad Pitt in the Regency Enterprises film Mr. and Mrs. Smith.

Nicole Kidman had been set to play the "Mrs." until her The Stepford Wives schedule created a conflict. Kidman isn't completely out of the picture, though it is known they are looking to firm an actress to keep Pitt in place for an early fall start.

Doug Liman directs from a screenplay by by Simon Kinberg. The film is about a bored married couple who discover they are enemy assassins hired to kill each other.
