Zeta-Jones sues French cosmetics firm

Oscar winning actress Catherine Zeta-Jones is suing a French cosmetics firm for a reported $15m, for wrongful use of her name in connection with the company’s products.

The Welsh actress claims that Caudalie, which produces wine-based beauty products, used her status to promote their products without her consent.

Zeta-Jones has alleged that the company wrongly state on their website that she uses their beauty products, while she has never purchased any of their range, or agreed to official endorsements.

The Neiman-Marcus Group Inc, which sells the Caudalie range, is also being accused of exploitation by the actress, for linking her to the products in internet interviews with Caudalie founder Mathilde Thomas.
