The £50,000 Zeta Factor
Luxurious ... house stands on corner plot
By JOHN COLES
THE family home where Hollywood beauty Catherine Zeta Jones grew up went on sale yesterday at a superstar price.
The Welsh stunners parents Dai and Pat have put the house on the market at £425,000, which includes a mark-up of around £50,000 for the Zeta factor.
Property experts said a comparable home without the showbiz links would sell for around £375,000.
Stylish ... dining room with 3ft portrait of Catherine
The four-bedroom property in the posh Swansea suburb of Mayals is filled with glitzy pictures of Catherine, including a 3ft high oil painting of her in the stylish dining room.
A photo of Catherine, 33, with actor husband Michael Douglas, 59, and their children dominates another wall.
Cosy ... kitchen has bright yellow theme
Catherine and her family moved into the house which boasts a bright yellow kitchen when she was seven.
Now her parents are selling up to move into a luxury £1million property she is having built for them in the fishing village of Mumbles.
Estate agents Peter Alan are advertising the house on the internet, pointing out that it is close to a golf club and public gardens.
Moving house ... mum Pat, Catherine and dad Dai
One neighbour said: They will have no trouble selling it, even at that price. People will be queueing up to live there because of its history.
Meanwhile Catherine and Michael are locked in a privacy row with a neighbour over the Mumbles home.
