Halle has best movie mouth
By Natalie Walker
HOLLYWOOD beauty Halle Berry really does have a million dollar smile.
A detailed study of her face, including teeth, lip- lines and symmetry of her grin, revealed the Die Another Day star has an almost 'too perfect' smile worth $976,000 (£532,506).
Tom Cruise has the most valuable smile among male stars, with a beam worth $840,000 (£458,304).
But despite reportedly spending a fortune on dentistry and dazzling pearlies, he loses points for an overlapping top tooth and asymmetrical front teeth.
Cinema chain Odeon set out to calculate how much the Oscar night smiles of stars were worth, with the help of cosmetic dentist Ron Baise.
He put money values on 10 key facial points such as the distance between hairline, eyebrow, nose and chin, how much gum shows in a smile, straightness of teeth and even how clean they are.
Julia Roberts boasts the second-best wide smile, worth $944,000 (£515,283).
Oscar nominee Charlize Theron was third, with smile value of $935,000 (£510,136).
Baise said Catherine Zeta-Jones's smile looks unnatural and forced and scored her $785,000 (£428,296).
He docked Brad Pitt points for having gaps at the back and priced his beam at $780,000 (£425,568).
Pirates Of The Caribbean star Keira Knightley has a straight-on smile valued at $775,000 (£422,840).
Nicole Kidman came bottom of the list with an estimated value of $647,000 (£353,003).
But she is an Oscar winner, as are the two stars whose smiles scored marginally more than her Denzel Washington and Jack Nicholson.
Richard Storton, a spokesman for Odeon, said: 'Our research shows you can still be a highly successful actor or actress without having a perfect smile.'
