Woman remanded on charges of stalking Zeta-Jones

Woman remanded for Zeta-Jones threats

A 32-year-old woman has been remanded in custody in California accused of stalking and threatening to kill actress Catherine Zeta-Jones.

Dawnette Knight has pleaded not guilty to threatening the actress and her family, after being arrested on 3 June at her Beverly Hills apartment.

She was charged with one felony count of stalking and 24 felony counts of criminal threats.

The alleged crimes date from January 2003 to May 2004. Knight is reportedly being held on bail of  $1m and is due to return to court for a preliminary hearing on 29 June next.

If convicted of the alleged offences, Knight could face a prison term of up to 19 years.
