A WOMAN accused of sending Catherine Zeta Jones death threats was behind bars last night.
Dawnette Knight is accused of stalking the Welsh actress and her family.
The 32-year-old who claims she had an affair with Catherine's husband, Michael Douglas was being held on £600,000 bail in a California jail.
Unemployed Knight has been charged with one count of stalking and 24 of making threats over the past 16 months, police said.
Zeta Jones's staff told LA police the Chicago star was receiving threatening letters and phone calls. Cops traced them back to Knight.
Lieutenant Joe Impellizeri said: 'The letters and phone calls became more violent and specific.'
Impellizeri added that the motive for the alleged crimes were not known.
Mum-of-two Catherine is currently filming Ocean's 12. Her publicist, Cece Yorke, said: 'She and her family are relieved the suspect is in custody.'
Douglas, 59, says the affair claims are 'preposterous'.
Knight could face 19 years in jail if convicted.
