Woman Charged With Death Threats to Catherine Zeta Jones
A sex symbol, celebrity and a face of a cosmetic giant Elizabeth Arden Catherine Zeta Jones has allegedly received a number of death threats from Dawnette Knight, a woman, who claims to have had a two-year affair with the actress’ husband Michael Douglas. Knight, 32, who has been charged with stalking and 24 counts of criminal threats, claims her and Douglas had a relationship after they met at a party in 2002, reports Teen Hollywood.
Zeta-Jones' staff notified the police around February that the 34-year-old Oscar-winning star was receiving threatening letters. Knight was arrested on June 3 in her Beverly Hills apartment and accused of threatening "to commit a crime which would result in death and great bodily injury" and her bail has been set at $1.1 million.
A statement released by Zeta-Jones' publicist says that the actress and her family were "greatly relieved that the suspect is in custody." If convicted, Knight could face anywhere from probation to 19 years in prison.
