Catherine's gold mine

The sun has most definitely come out
We're sad to report that Welsh icon Catherine Zeta Jones is worth a whopping £36m in her own right.

Sad because this means we can longer take the mick about her marrying that old timer for his dosh and established celebrity standing in La La Land.

What are we going to do now?

The spoon-faced actress got her first taste of showbiz when she won a Butlins talent contest at the age of ten.

From then on, the little starlet didn't look back and the following year she starred in Annie, making £85 a week.

But it wasn't until she popped up in ITV's The Darling Buds Of May, looking all rosy-cheeked and bursting with wholeness, that the male population sat up and took notice.

Now, according to the BBC Liquid Assets programme, the 34-year-old is one of the richest UK actresses, earning more than £8m a year in advertising and has a personal property fortune of £3m.

The little angel may spend £300,000 a year on flights, jetting between her homes in Bermuda, New York, Majorca and the glamorous Swansea, but she still forks out £2m for charidee.

Bless her.

Plus she saves £30,000 on frocks because designer mugs give them to her for free!

So you see, the Welsh poppet really has come a very long way.

Let's just hope she's putting the pennies aside for Michael's home care help
