Zeta-Jones donates to politics
July 21, 2004

ACTRESS Catherine Zeta-Jones, soon to be seen on the big screen with George Clooney in Ocean's Twelve, is spending some of her movie paycheque to help Clooney's dad in politics.

Zeta-Jones along with actors Warren Beatty and Red Buttons and singer Nancy Sinatra are the latest celebrities to contribute to the congressional campaign of Democrat Nick Clooney, father of George and brother of the late singer-actress Rosemary Clooney.

The donations were found on the Kentucky Democrat's fund-raising report for the period April 29 to June 30 that he filed with the Federal Election Commission.

Nick Clooney, who has raised about $US825,000 ($1.14 million), had slightly more than $US600,000 ($827,200) cash on hand.
