US Presidential hopeful John Kerry has admitted that he fancies Catherine Zeta-Jones.

The Democrat, hoping to oust George Bush from the White House, said he rates the Welsh star and Charlize Theron as the sexiest actresses.

Kerry, married to Teresa Heinz Kerry and with two grown daughters, made the confession in a chat with GQ magazine in the US reports the Mirror.

Asked his preference in film stars he said: "I think Charlize Theron is pretty extraordinary.

"And Catherine Zeta-Jones, before Zeta and Theron there was marilyn Monroe. I thought she was funny. Complicated. And obviously very attractive, very beautiful."

But asked who he'd like mimicking Monroe's famous birthday song to JFK, he diplomatically answered: "My wife."
