LOS ANGELES A judge in Los Angeles is going to allow T-V cameras into the pre-trial hearings for a woman accused of stalking Catherine Zeta-Jones.

The judge says the hearings can be televised, except when they involve witness testimony.

Dawnette Knight is charged with one count of stalking and 24 counts of making criminal threats. She allegedly sent threatening and violent letters to the actress' husband, actor Michael Douglas.

Attorneys for Zeta-Jones had asked the court to keep cameras out. They said media coverage would taint the jury pool and encourage copycat crimes.

Authorities want cameras kept out of the trial itself, which is scheduled to start next month. No ruling yet on that request.
