Hollywood stars, including Brad Pitt, George Clooney and Leonardo DiCaprio, came together on Saturday to raise money for the tsunami disaster in a live telethon.
'Tsunami Aid: A Concert of Hope' was screened live for two hours on US channel NBC on Saturday night, as well as a web cast being broadcast outside of the US.
Hollywood celebrities Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio, Johnny Depp, Meg Ryan, Nicholas Cage and George Clooney were amongst those who manned the phones during the telethon.
Other actors, including Robert De Niro, Kevin Spacey, Halle Berry, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Michael Douglas, Matt Damon, Clint Eastwood, Ben Affleck and Renee Zellweger, also supported the event by making televised appeals for donations from the public.
Musical performances during the live telethon came from Madonna, Nelly, Annie Lennox, Eric Clapton, Sheryl Crow, Norah Jones, Stevie Wonder, Lenny Kravitz, Diana Ross and Elton John.
A host of other celebrities from the entertainment world also contributed to the fundraiser, which featured a joint appearance by former presidents George Bush and Bill Clinton.
