Weather Forces Harvard Drama Troupe To Scrap Parade
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Catherine Zeta-Jones was the toast of the town in Cambridge on Thursday.The actress was honored with the Hasty Pudding Award at Harvard University. But the nation's oldest undergraduate drama club had to cancel her parade because of rain.
Instead, Zeta-Jones and a bunch of students dressed in drag waved to fans from the porch of the Hasty Pudding Theater. Wearing a black pantsuit and a white shirt, the actress joked that she felt underdressed.Zeta-Jones was named Woman of the Year by Hasty Pudding Theatricals last week. Actor Tim Robbins was named Man of the Year, and he is scheduled to appear next week at the opening night performance of "Terms of Frontierment."Hasty Pudding says the Man of the Year and Woman of the Year awards are presented annually to performers who have made a "lasting and impressive contribution to the world of entertainment."Zeta-Jones won an Oscar for best supporting actress in "Chicago."
