Samuel L Jackson has confirmed he is in talks to take part in a televised celebrity version of the Ryder Cup.

The format could see Catherine Zeta Jones playing for Europe while husband Michael Douglas putts for the USA.

Samuel, who is in London for the premiere of his latest film Coach Carter, could be teamed up with Kevin Costner to represent the US.

The tournament, called The Celebrity Cup, will be broadcast live on ITV and is understood to be planned for the August Bank Holiday.

It is the brainchild of presenting duo Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, both keen golfers.
