But the OSCAR-winning actress, who has two children - four-year-old DYLAN
and baby CARYS - with husband MICHAEL DOUGLAS, has refused the role.
A close source says, "As a mother herself, Catherine felt the baby murder
was 'too close to home'.
"The film makers are now considering two other British actresses, KATE
WINSLET and KATE BECKINSALE.
"But they are mothers too, and could feel the same way."
