CATHERINE Zeta-Jones is to pay thousands of pounds for her sick cousin to be treated in America.
Teacher Kelly Hinder will be flown out at the Hollywood star's expense so specialists can operate on a mystery kidney complaint.
The pair formed a close bond after Ocean's Twelve star Catherine, 35, read a poem written by Kelly at the funeral of their grandmother Cathy Fair four years ago.
Kelly, 29, who has been ill for a year, said: "I don't know what's wrong. That's why I've got to go over to America. They're going to have a thorough investigation. I have been having lots of kidney pain and I'm looking forward to getting it sorted out."
Kelly, who lives in Swansea where Catherine was born, works as a key skills tutor at Swansea College. She will fly out in a couple of weeks.
A source close to the family added: "It's a very kind gesture from Catherine and she really doesn't want to make a big deal about it. Family is very important to her."
Mum-of-two Catherine, who is married to film star Michael Douglas, begins filming the Legend of Zorro later this year.
