ZETA-JONES SNUBBED FOR BEING TOO BEAUTIFUL

CATHERINE ZETA JONES

CATHERINE ZETA-JONES was snubbed by British composer LORD LLOYD-WEBBER when she was 20 - because she was too beautiful to star in his hit show ASPECTS OF LOVE.

The then-aspiring actress, now 35, auditioned for the role of ROSE VIBERT in 1990, a character which is rejected by leading man ALEX DILLINGHAM in the romantic musical.

But director SIR TREVOR NUNN insisted no one could believe the Welsh beauty would ever be dumped by a man, so he and Lloyd-Webber deemed her unsuitable for the role.

Nunn told Webber, "The entire audience of red-blooded men will be saying, 'Go on, Alex, give her one!'"
