CATHERINE Zeta Jones and her husband Michael Douglas are on opposing sides in a celebrity version of the Ryder Cup.
The Welsh beauty has been confirmed to play on Colin Montgomerie’s European team on the Sky One show.
Douglas’s US side will be captained by Mark O’Meara, and has Hollywood stud Rob Lowe on board.
The idea for the tournament, which takes place over the August Bank Holiday, was dreamed up by golf fans Ant and Dec, who are executive producers.
Other names on the European team confirmed today include media mogul Chris Evans, Charlotte Church’s rugby star boyfriend Gavin Henson, model Jodie Kidd, former Cold Feet star James Nesbitt, and singer Ronan Keating.
The All Star Cup will be presented by Terry Wogan, Kirsty Gallacher and Jamie Theakston.
The squads will compete at the 2010 Ryder Cup venue in South Wales, the Celtic Manor Resort.
A practice day will take place on Saturday August 27, followed by two days of competition.
Each match will consist of two players representing the US and two representing Europe.
It has not yet been decided which members of the teams will play against each other in each match.
Ant and Dec promised a “fantastic event” and said it “couldn’t be more exciting”.
Bob Massie, executive producer at TWI, which is making the show, said: “The players have now signed up and we are delighted with the calibre of names taking part.
“There will be plenty of talent out on the course and competition is likely to be fierce – make no mistake, both Europe and the US are playing to win.”
Montgomerie said: “I look forward to captaining the European team.”
