Staff reporter
Thu, 11 Aug 2005

Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas will be on opposing sides in a celebrity version of the Ryder Cup later this month.

The couple have signed up to take part in The All Star Cup to be screened on Sky TV.

Douglas will play in the US side and will be captained by Mark O'Meara, while Colin Montgomerie heads the European team, where Catherine will be playing.

According to BBC online, the All Star Cup is the idea of Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, who will act as executive producers.

Other names on the European team include media mogul Chris Evans, rugby star boyfriend Gavin Henson, model Jodie Kidd, Ronan Keating, and former Cold Feet star James Nesbitt.

Sylvester Stallone, Kyle MacLachlan, Hayley Joel Osment, Rob Lowe and saxophonist Kenny G are playing for the opposing US team.

The teams will compete at the Celtic Manor Resort in south Wales, the venue for the 2010 Ryder Cup, on 29 August.
