Hollywood readies Stompanato flick

Aug. 24, 2005 at 8:52PM

Actors Keanu Reeves and Catherine Zeta-Jones are reportedly interested in taking on the Hollywood biopic "Stompanato," it was reported Wednesday.
Adrian Lyne is set to direct the film about Johnny Stompanato, the boyfriend of actress Lana Turner who was killed by her daughter, Cheryl Crane, the Hollywood Reporter said.
The project is expected to wind up at Warner Bros. Pictures, but no deal has been made yet, the Reporter said.
Stompanato was killed in 1958 at Turner's Beverly Hills home.
Crane, who was 14 at the time, was not charged when the slaying was ruled as justifiable homicide. However, there were rumors Turner killed her boyfriend and let her daughter take the rap, the Reporter said.
