Douglas hands out grand gesture

Sep 4 2005

Rachel Mainwaring, Wales on Sunday

CHRIS Evans was the most generous of the All*Star Cup celebrities when he handed a £10,000 diamond to his caddy Natalie Harrison, from Rhuddlan - but Michael Douglas also dug deep in his pockets.

The veteran actor, who played against wife Catherine Zeta Jones, paid his caddy £1,000 for helping him out during the celebrity golf tournament at the Celtic Manor Resort.

An insider told us: "Chris was obviously the most generous, giving his £10,000 diamond that he won for being player of the tournament but Michael Douglas shelled out a grand for his caddy.

"Most of the others rewarded their caddies too and gave them 500 euros for their work - except for Sir Steve Redgrave, who gave his a bottle of champers he'd won for one of his putts."
