OSCAR-winning Welsh-born superstar Catherine Zeta-Jones has signed on to star as an obsessive chef in a US remake of the German comedy-drama Bella Martha, industry reports said today. The 35-year-old star of films including Chicago and cean's 12 will play an obsessive and controlling chef whose life is turned upside down when she becomes the guardian of her young niece in Mostly Martha. The movie, to be produced for Warner Bros studios by Castle Rock Entertainment and directed by Scott Hicks, is a remake of the 2001 German film written and directed by Sandra Nettlebeck, Daily Variety and Hollywood Reporter said.
The Welsh-born wife of Hollywood royalty Michael Douglas won the Oscar in 2003 for her supporting role in the musical Chicago.
Zeta-Jones is next set to star opposite Spanish heartthrob Antonio Banderas in Martin Campbell's The Legend of Zorro, from Hollywood's Sony Pictures International.
