Catherine Zeta-Jones has been earning her stripes on the golf course. The Oscar-winning actress made quite an impression on onlookers at St Andrews with a pair of stripy pantaloon trousers.

Her choice of sporting attire was a world away from the glamorous designer frocks she is best known for. The Welsh star coupled her baggy blue and white fashion statement, which drew comparisons to the children's TV character Andy Pandy, with a dark blue fleece and matching hat.

But although we are more accustomed to seeing her dazzle on the red carpet, Catherine was only interested in improving her swing when she took to the green on Wednesday afternoon. The 36-year-old was getting in a little extra practice in advance of the Dunhill Links Pro-Am Championship which gets underway tomorrow.

Husband Michael Douglas, who is a regular fixture on the celebrity golfing circuit, was also on hand to give her some tips. And it would seem his passion for the sport has rubbed off on the Chicago star, because her latest day on the green came just a few weeks after she joined a roll-call of big names at the All Star Celebrity Cup.
