According to early estimates, Saw II raked in $30.5 million over the weekend.

Antonio Banderas' Alejandro's "The Legend of Zorro," came in a close second at $16.5 million in what was essentially a battle of the sequels. Saw II is a sequel of the gory Saw, which was released last year. The film sees the murderer Jigsaw return with another spine-chilling performance. This time Jigsaw has laid a death trap form eight individuals who must somehow find a way out of the puzzle.

The sequel to 1998's "The Mask of Zorro," is a vastly different film from Saw II. Alejandro is hoping to start a family with Elena (Catherine Zeta-Jones), but something keeps pulling him back towards the world of action. He ultimately has to duel with land barons whose sole aim is to keep California from becoming the 31st state.

The number three spot on the Halloween weekend was claimed by "Prime," which raked in more than $6.3 million. Uma Thurman plays a 37-year-old divorcee who starts an affair with a 23-year-old partner. Thurman's therapist (Meryl Streep) is all for the relationship until she finds out that the young colt in question is her own son.

"Dreamer: Inspired by a True Story" slipped to the number 4 spot this week, down form the number 2 the last week. The film about a horse trainer and his daughter who nurse a horse with a broken leg
took in $6.3 million. Nicolas Cage's latest movie "Weather Man" debuted at number six with earnings of $4.2 million.
