Hollywood star CATHERINE ZETA-JONES has reportedly been asked to play transsexual cabaret star APRIL ASHLEY in a new film.
Singer-turned-model Ashley, who was born GEORGE JAMIESON in Liverpool, England, in 1935, caused a scandal when British newspaper The People outed her in 1961 - prompting her husband ARTHUR CORBETT to have their marriage annulled.
A source tells the New York Post, "There's no word on whether (Catherine) has agreed (to the role)."
