Catherine Zeta-Jones worked for a week as a chef in a New York restaurant to prepare for a role in an upcoming movie, BBC News reports.

The Welsh beauty spent time sautéing and chopping in the kitchen and even waited tables to gain experience for her role as a top chef in the romantic flick Mostly Martha.

Chef Michael White told People magazine: “She’s been doing a lot in the kitchen – sautéing and cutting. She’s a great garnisher. Drizzling oil and balsamic on plates – she does a nice job.”

Zeta-Jones even served in the restaurant without people realising who she was, according to co-workers.

An employee said: “One night she did a little serving. A few people said to her, ‘You look so much like Catherine Zeta-Jones.’ And she said: ‘Oh, I get that all the time.”

Mostly Martha is scheduled for a 2007 release.
