Scottish university honors Michael Douglas

Apr. 19, 2006 at 4:36PM

Oscar-winning actor Michael Douglas has been chosen to receive an honorary degree from Scotland's St. Andrews university.
Douglas will receive a Doctor of Laws degree in June for his outstanding contribution to British film, a spokesman for the university told the BBC.
The son of Hollywood legend Kirk Douglas has been a frequent visitor to the school once attended by Prince William.
"Three years ago, I was at St. Andrews and they asked if I would do a Q & A with the students," Douglas told the BBC from Los Angeles. "I had never seen so many beautiful women in my life. I then found out that Prince William was at the school. That was a time to be there."
Douglas won his Oscar for his role as a ruthless stock broker in "Wall Street." He is married to Welsh actress Catherine Zeta-Jones.
