    Zeta-Jones sings for 'Gypsy'

Catherine Zeta-Jones is re-teaming with "Chicago" director Rob Marshall for another big-screen musical.

The Oscar winning actress is set to play diva Mama Rose in "Gypsy", a remake of the 1959 Broadway production that spawned a 1962 movie starring Rosalind Russell and Natalie Wood.

Producers Bob and Harvey Weinstein are in negotiations with Marshall to helm the new film, according to the New York Post.

Set in the 1930s, "Gypsy" tells the story of a determined stage mother, Mama Rose, who pushes her daughter Gypsy Rose Lee into the world of burlesque dancing.

Zeta-Jones won a Best Supporting Actress Oscar for her performance as Velma Kelly in 2002's film adaptation of Broadway musical "Chicago". Marshall's directorial debut went on to win the Best Picture gong.
