Michael Douglas celebrated the birthday he shares with wife Catherine Zeta-Jones a day early last night with dinner at The Wolseley restaurant in Piccadilly.

The pair, who were both born on 25 September, though 25 years apart, were joined by power couple Jamie Rubin, ex-Clinton spokesman turned Sky News analyst, and Christiane Amanpour, CNN's chief international reporter. Douglas is pictured above giving a surprised Amanpour an ardent peck on the cheek.

Douglas and Zeta-Jones are set to star alongside each other in a new adventure movie, Racing The Monsoon, playing leading lady and villain. The pair have rejected the opportunity to play lovers on-screen. They previously starred together in Traffic in 2000 but did not share a scene.
