Here are the list of the data You will need sooner or later: (The provided data are mine examples!)

   IP Address of Your PC       :  148.6.76.109
   Name of Your PC             :  alag3.mfa.kfki.hu
   Domain Name                 :        mfa.kfki.hu
   Router, or GateWay   ( GW ) :  148.6.72.254
   Domain Name Server   (DNS ) :  148.6.0.5
   Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) :  postas.mfa.kfki.hu
   Incoming Mail Server (POP3) :  posta.mfa.kfki.hu
   TelNet Server               :  r1.atki.kfki.hu
   (Anonymous) FTP server      :  ftp.kfki.hu
   WWW Server                  :  www.kfki.hu

For TelNet, FTP and Mail services You also have to got an account with a specific username and password. All these data can be obtained from Your Network System Manager. Everywhere must be a system manager, even if he is in hiding. (This is a common habit of the system managers!)

DECODE an ATTACHMENT that seems to be a Garbage on Your Monitor?
First, some files (especially the binary ones: COM, EXE, ARJ, ZIP, GIF, JPG, etc.) seems to be always as garbage, even if they are not that kind. Nevertheless, many times You are right. The E-mail program (regardless what You are using) usually do not know all the coding/decoding algorithms currently used by the Internet Community (BinHEX, UUE, MIME, etc.). Fortunately there are specific programs (like the XferPro) that can extract the original file from the "garbage" (almost always).

FIND Anything on the Internet?
Use the Alag3 server's Search Page that can be reached at anytime by clicking on the logo found in the upper-right corner of almost every page maintained on Alag3 www server. There You can search on Alag3 and on the whole Internet as well!

FIND the E-mail address of the MANODET Participants?
For short info You should check out the E-MailTo page, or for more detailed info the Participants page. You can also use (in NetScape Navigator) the downloadable BookMark file provided in the Current News page.

FIND a specific PAGE on MANODET project's www site?
You should go to the starting page of the project: http://Alag3.mfa.kfki.hu/ect/manodet/index.htm. You can write this address into the "location" window of NetScape, or click on the logo found in the upper-left corner of almost every page belonging to the MANODET project. Another possibility is to use the Alag3 server's Search Page that can be reached at anytime by clicking on the logo found in the upper-right corner of almost every page maintained on Alag3 www server. There You can search on Alag3 and on the whole Internet as well! (Please keep in mind, that the web pages on Alag3 change frequently, therefore a given link can become obsolate in a relatively short time. The be up-to-date, You should press sometimes the "reload" botton of NetScape Navigator!)

The full versions of the publications are available on demand from one of the authors. However, the short versions (the abstracts) can be downloaded from this page.

First, look after what softwares You should purchase or download. Soon we will give step-by-step instructions about the installations!
Only one point in advance: Many times people don't know how to run-in the NetScape's E-mail services, just because they forgot to fill in the recquired configuration information in Options/Mail_and_News_Preferences.../Servers_and_Identity ! Check out what are the needed data for this purpose!
