| Method: | The finite element method is used in the 2D and 3D codes developed at IGTE. Sheet elements modelling surface currents and thin sheets of high permeability will be developed in order to cope with the specialities in the sensor construction and in modelling cracks. A special sensitivity analysis for higher order finite elements will be developed to accelerate the deterministic optimization processes. | ||||

| Method: | The finite element package has been developed at BU and is capable of solving finite element problems which are coupled to curcuits, which is required for modelling voltage forced ECT probes. The performance of the finite element package in modelling very thin cracks will be assessed and improved if necesary by introducing special elements. | ||||

Modelling of 2D and 3D time transient nonlinear
electromagnetic fields using finite elements. Building and measurement
of test samples to compare measurements with 2D and 3D finite element
simulations. Measurements to be done using a Hall probe system, so
that comparison with the Fluxset system can be made. | |||
